Dr. Coward and Associates will be following this directive in order to ensure the health of our patients and staff. You can also e-mail us at email@example.com. We are open to assist you Monday to Friday from 8:30am to 5:00pm so please contact us then.
We do apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
We are positive that with the cooperation of our community and everyone doing their part, this difficult time will soon be distant.

Eye Allergy Diagnosis & Treatment with Our Trenton, Brighton, and Belleville Optometrists
Eye allergies themselves aren’t usually vision-threatening, however, if left untreated they can lead to infections or eye damage especially if you rub or itch your eyes! Eye allergies can present like other conditions, so it’s important to meet with an eye doctor to rule out more serious issues. At Dr. Coward and Associates, our optometrists in Trenton, Brighton, and Beleville can help our eye allergy patients find individualized and sustainable relief.
Symptoms of Eye Allergies
Eye allergy symptoms vary in type, duration, and intensity. Some common ones include:
Weather and climate (e.g., extreme cold dry air, wind)
Make-up and perfume
Chlorine and other chemicals
How Our Optometrists Help Manage Eye Allergies
It’s not enough to “just” treat the symptoms of an eye allergy. Understanding the root cause of your allergy is important so we can help you achieve long-term relief. Once we’ve identified that your symptoms are indeed caused by an allergic response, and then identify what your particular allergen is, we can then prescribe appropriate treatment. This may include:
Medicated eye drops (and/or oral medications) to soothe inflammation and control the immune response
Patient education to help you learn how to avoid or eliminate known allergens in your home and environment, as well as how to safely soothe symptom (e.g., cool compresses)
Prescription glasses and/or hard-to-fit contact lenses to accommodate vision correction needs as well as your eye allergy
