Find Your Perfect Sunglasses At Dr. Coward & Associates
There are numerous reasons people wear sunglasses; from fashion to UV protection. Sunglasses with a good anti-UV coating are important to keep your eyes safe. Too much UV exposure can have negative long-term effects on your eyes. Too much UV light has been found to increase the risk of cataracts and macular degeneration later in life. Please talk to your optometrist about how to best protect your eyes from UV light.
There are different options available to protect your eyes from the sun. Many patients wear glasses that darken when they go into the sun, called transitions. The benefit of this style of lenses is that you never have to worry about forgetting your sunglasses at home, they are built right into your everyday lenses! There are even contact lenses available that can darken in the sun. For those that prefer a darker tint or need sunglasses for driving, prescription sunglasses are available in a variety of colours, styles and can be made as polarized lenses. Dr. Coward & Associates offers many brand-name, affordable and high quality sunglasses.
Benefits of wearing prescription sunglasses
The primary benefit of wearing prescription sunglasses is that you’re protecting your eyes every time you step outside. Sunglasses are essential to preserve good ocular health and help reduce the risk of cataracts and macular degeneration.
